Designed for installation on bulk storage tanks, the Storagetech Model 141 pressure relief valve protects the tank against excessive internal pressure. In the closed position, the weight-loaded pallet and diaphragm assembly is held tightly against a seal to prevent vapor loss to the atmosphere. As the internal tank pressure increases due to product filling and vapor generation, the tank pressure rises and, if the unit set pressure is reached, the diaphragm opens and releases gas to the atmosphere. The opening set point can be selected between +2.0 mbar and +60 mbar (+0.8 in. W.C. and +24 in. W.C.), and the valve will close when the tank returns to a safe pressure. Several design features ensure smooth, positive, and efficient operation. The body is self-draining and drip rings prevent condensate from collecting on seating surfaces. A Teflon diaphragm and gasket reduce the possibility of icing and sticky deposits that could prevent valve opening, while the pallet assembly moves freely along the guide posts.
